Rights every woman in India has

  • Protection from violence at home

    The Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005 lets you seek protection, residence and money orders from a magistrate.

  • A right to stay in your home

    You cannot be thrown out of your shared household just because the relationship has broken down.

  • Maintenance

    A wife who cannot support herself can claim maintenance from her husband for herself and her children.

  • Free legal aid

    Every woman is entitled to free legal services from the District Legal Services Authority, whatever her income.
