మేము ఆమె కోసం

We, for her.

When a marriage breaks down in rural India, a woman can lose her home, her income and her place in the village overnight. We find her, stand with her, and stay until she can stand on her own.

“What happens to the village women in broken marriages?”

Shravya Mandadi, founder. The question that started We & She.

A woman leaving a broken marriage in a city may find a lawyer, a job, a friend. In a village she is more likely to find silence. She is blamed for the breakdown, sent back to parents who cannot support her, and rarely told about the maintenance, pensions and protections the law already gives her.

Most have never been trained for paid work. Many have children to raise. No single scheme catches her, so we built a path that does: one woman at a time, from the first conversation to the first income.

Our method: Identify, Counsel, Train, Rehabilitate

The founder designed it in the villages of Telangana. Every woman we work with moves through all four steps, at her own pace.

  1. Identify గుర్తించడం

We find women who have suffered a dysfunctional marriage, going village to village and door to door to reach those who would never reach us.

  2. Counsel కౌన్సెలింగ్

We offer counselling to women experiencing depression or stress because of a broken marriage, so they can recover their confidence and decide what comes next.

  3. Train శిక్షణ

We train women in skills chosen around their own interests, from tailoring to embroidery, so they can earn their own living.

  4. Rehabilitate పునరావాసం

We rescue and rehabilitate women from difficult situations, with immediate assistance first and long-term support after.

One skill centre today. One in every district tomorrow.

In October 2025, nearly a decade after the foundation began, we opened our first skill centre in Ramanthapur, Hyderabad. Single women learn tailoring and maggam embroidery free of charge over three months and leave with a certificate and the means to earn.

Each centre is a small, repeatable unit: a room, a set of machines, two trainers and a steady stream of women referred by our field work. That makes it something a donor or partner can fund, measure and replicate.

31 districts in 31 days

In July 2018 our founder set out alone to visit every district of Telangana under the banner“మేము ఆమె కోసం”, We for her. No one had done it before.

Shravya Mandadi left a corporate career and sold her own gold bangles to found We & She in 2017. A law student and former civil services aspirant, she has spent her adult life in the villages most people only drive past.
